Hello and welcome everyone!

I’m Katie, a writer of funny contemporary romances, published by HarperCollins/ HQ Digital. The first book in my new series, Spring Tides at Swallowtail Bay, is published in March with two more books to follow this year.

If you don’t want to wait for those, there’s also my lovely Seafront Series (The Little Theatre on the Seafront (shortlisted for the Katie Fforde Debut Romantic Novel of the Year 2019) and Summer Season on the Seafront. And if you love a Christmas novel, there’s my stand-alone book Snowflakes at Mistletoe Cottage.

There’s a couple of links above, but if you’re not in the UK, all the links are on the Publications page so please hop on over and grab a copy! I promise you’ll love it!

If you love funny, warm chick-lit then stick around! We’ll have lots to discuss. But I also like blogging about other random things like writing tips, gin, life and … more gin! I hope you’ll join me!

Lost Words – Let’s bring ’em back!

As a lot of this blog is about writing, I wanted to write a regular article on my favourite forgotten words. You know the type of thing, those poor lost words that sit at the back of our minds, gathering dust, having been discovered years ago in literary classics like Dickens, or Austen. They are the spices of the literary world, but I refuse to let them sit in a cupboard and be ignored until...

Four Week Summer Gin Recipe

If any of you guys are based in the UK and have kids you’ll be facing the prospect of the big six week summer holiday and that requires one thing – Gin!   I’m an absolute gin lover. I’m completely nuts about all the different types of gin you can get and all the different ways you can drink it. I particularly enjoy a gin cocktail (does anybody not?). And with the...

Cover Reveal!!

I can honestly say this is one of the most exciting days of my life – my first ever cover reveal! Today I can finally show you all the cover of my first book, The Little Theatre on the Seafront.   When Lottie’s Gran dies she leaves one last request; save Greenley Theatre. Faced with a decaying building, a mayor who most definitely isn’t on board with the project and a group of actors who...

Is your desk safe?

Before you click off this post because it sounds a bit like a boring health and safety announcement, please don’t! It might be a bit dull, but honestly, for anyone working from home at a desk shoved in a corner of their dining room, living room, or at the kitchen table, please take a moment to read through some of the tips I’ve found to make sure you don’t end up with a bad...

Watching TV can improve your writing. Honestly!

This isn’t just an excuse to binge watch Netflix in the name of research, I promise! You really can learn some great tips for writing by watching TV. Just like they say the best way to improve your writing is to read, read, read, I think the same can be said for watching your favourite programmes on television. One of the things I struggle with as a writer is describing interesting but...

PARTAY! My Night at the Harper Collins Summer Party 2018

Last night I was lucky enough to attend the Harper Collins Summer Party and even though it rained a bit (can you believe it with the weather we’ve had!) I had the most awesome time! I was really nervous to begin with. There were around a 1000 people there and I’d never met any of them before. But I’d chatted to a few authors on Facebook and Twitter, and once I recognised them I...

Katie Ginger

The first thing you need to know about me is, I like gin. Lots and lots of gin.
I live in the South East of England in a lovely little town by the sea and spend my time working, running around after my kids, walking our King Charles Spaniel, Wotsit, and writing!

I love history and have a Master’s degree, but have also been lucky enough to work in various castles and museums over the years. I’ve yet to get one of them into a story though – I really must try harder!
