Hey, folks, it’s time to ask the editor!

I’ve compiled a list of questions and the lovely Abigail Fenton, Editorial Director at HarperCollins, HQ Digital, has answered them. Read on to find out more about the work of, and some top tips from, one of the best editors in the business!

This month I thought we’d get a little bit personal! We all love a little bit of behind the scenes action, don’t we? So this month’s question for Abi is:

What’s been your biggest professional challenge?

Abi says:

Joining HQ Digital has been a (hugely rewarding!) challenge. Previously I was only responsible for my own authors, whereas now I oversee the whole list – which means I have lots more to juggle! But getting to think strategically about the future of the list and supporting other editors with their publishing, as well as publishing my own authors is incredibly exciting.

Thanks Abi!

It sounds like Abi has a lot on her plate, but even with all that she still manages to be absolutely lovely! Thank you so much to Abi for taking the time to answer my questions. Her workload (as you can imagine!) is CRAY-ZEE! So I’m so grateful to her for humouring me and my blog!

Abi is Editorial Director, HQ at HarperCollins and before that was Commissioning Editor at Bookouture.
