But, I also love writing and reading cozy mysteries, an couldn’t resist penning a historical cozy mystery series featuring an amateur sleuth and her friends in the mystery-reading book club, The Sleuthing Club under the pen name K E Coburn!

PARTAY! My Night at the Harper Collins Summer Party 2018

Last night I was lucky enough to attend the Harper Collins Summer Party and even though it rained a bit (can you believe it with the weather we’ve had!) I had the most awesome time! I was really nervous to begin with. There were around a 1000 people there and I’d never met any of them before. But I’d chatted to a few authors on Facebook and Twitter, and once I recognised them I...

Lost Words – Let’s bring ’em back!

As a lot of this blog is about writing, I wanted to write a regular article on my favourite forgotten words. You know the type of thing, those poor lost words that sit at the back of our minds, gathering dust, having been discovered years ago in literary classics like Dickens, or Austen. They are the spices of the literary world, but I refuse to let them sit in a cupboard and be ignored until...

Literary gifts for the writer (or reader) in your life!

You can keep your expensive designer gear, you can keep your flowers and boxes of chocolates (okay, maybe not the chocolates), and you can even keep your fancy handbags, but the one thing I am a total sucker for is a literary gift. If ever my husband is struggling to find me something for my birthday, or for Christmas, I always point him in the direction of somewhere like The Literary Gift...

Writer’s arse is an actual thing!

You may not believe me, but writers arse is an actual real thing! I don’t think it’s necessarily specific to writers, in fact, I’m sure it’s common to anyone with a desk job. But the fact is when deadlines come around, healthy eating will, most likely, go out of the window. The first deadline I had caught me unawares. I wasn’t prepared for the crazy deadline-induced...

My top 5 tips for writing contemporary romance

I’ve been doing a lot of research lately on what types of blog posts to write and one of the things I love to read is advice from authors. Now, I realise my debut novel isn’t out until September and I’m by no means an expert, but having begun to go through the process of revisions and edits, I’ve been learning a lot about writing contemporary romance and I thought...

Katie Ginger

The first thing you need to know about me is, I like gin. Lots and lots of gin.
I live in the South East of England in a lovely little town by the sea and spend my time working, running around after my kids, walking our King Charles Spaniel, Wotsit, and writing!

I love history and have a Master’s degree, but have also been lucky enough to work in various castles and museums over the years. I’ve yet to get one of them into a story though – I really must try harder!
