Help! I desperately need some in getting back into this whole work routine! The kids went back to school last week so I had that week off to get them back into their routine of getting up, dressed and ready for school, lunch boxes made, blah blah blah! That was hard enough and now I’m struggling to get back into my writing routine. I’ve been doing everything possible not to write, I’ve even tidied and cleaned the house…twice!

#MotivationMonday

So what’s lacking? I think it’s because I had to work through most of the summer holiday while my hubby had his first holiday since Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t have had it any other way as I had an amazing opportunity come my way, but I still feel a little spent from how intense it was. Writing, editing and looking after the kids (even with help) was damn hard!

I’ve read all the motivation quotes and do you know what? They’re so annoying when you don’t fancy getting off your bum and doing anything! The only time they’ve made me get up and get moving was to get another biscuit!

#TransformationTuesday

All this sitting around (and the biscuits) has played havoc with my waistline! My jeans are so tighter they’re leaving rings around me when I sit down! Something has to change but what? How do I get out of this funk?

#WednesdayWisdom

There’s a whole world of helpful advice out there for getting started on new projects, like breaking down goals, making to-do lists etc. But there is one place I always go for advice and wisdom when I need it. The one, the only, Jillian Michaels. God, I LOVE Jillian Michaels! Her DVD’s are awesome! And this is the quote I think I’m going to use today to get myself moving again, both mentally and physically:

“Why are you going to choose failure when success is an option?”

I’m getting my workout gear on now, putting my biscuit down and afterwords I’m going to write 1,000 words of something – anything, to get me going again. My books won’t get published unless I do something about it.

#ThursdayThoughts

I’m going back to Jillian for another piece of advice for use tomorrow if I get up and face the same problem:

“It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort.”

Okay, so I might not want to look at that story because I have a ton of edits to do, but you know what, every story started somewhere. The first draft, the second draft, the third draft, it doesn’t matter how many you go through. Every change you make is making your story stronger and better and hopefully, more publishable. I’ll remember this tomorrow when I sit down and look at a pile of paper and start going through all my scribbled notes!

#FridayFeeling

One of the tips I read was to reward yourself for small achievements. If I stick at my work today and tomorrow then on Friday after I’ve finished and got the kids in bed I can reward myself was some nice gentle yoga to stretch out my tired body and a cold glass of white rioja. That doesn’t sound too bad at all!
