Hello everyone,

Why is this email entitled me and Anton Du Beke? Well, because soon, I'm going to meet the strictly star!

He'll be handing out awards at the Romantic Novelists' Association's Romantic Novel of the Year Awards where Summer at the Chateau (written as Annabel French) is shortlisted for the Contemporary Romantic Novel Award! I don't care if I win or not as I get to have an evening out, celebrate the brilliant romance genre and meet a celeb! You can't get much better than that.

In other news, did you see the cover for The Palace Girl's Secret (written as Emma Royal)? I love it and if you fancy taking a trip back to Buckingham Palace in 1952 with a young Queen Elizabeth newly on the throne and trouble below stairs, you can pre-order your copy here:

Paperback: https://tinyurl.com/yc5zcd8c

Right now I'm working on edits for the last Palace Girls book even though it doesn't come out until September 2025. Oh, and reading lots of lovely romance books too!

Do give me your reading recomendations over on Facebook. I'm always on the lookout for more books to add to my TBR list!

Happy reading and lots of love,

Shortlisted for the Contemporary Romantic Novel Award 2024!

A newly single girl. A tall, dark and handsome stranger. A chateau that keeps bringing them together. What could go wrong?

When Lizzie Summers is jilted at the altar, she’s left completely heartbroken. But then she receives news that she has inherited a beautiful chateau in Provence, and it seems like the perfect escape.

Upon arrival, she discovers she is now the proud owner of . . . a crumbling ruin. A decrepit chateau – with nothing but dust and a goat for company.

Intending to head straight back to the airport, Lizzie instead gets caught in a freakish summer storm and finds herself trudging through a vineyard for help. Bedraggled and furious, she enlists the help of her nearest neighbour, the enchanting Luc.

Perhaps she should stay and mend the chateau – and her broken heart – after all…?

The Whalebone Theatre by Joanna Quinn

This is the story of an old English manor house by the sea, with crumbling chimneys, draping ivy and a library full of dusty hardbacks. It's the story of the three children who grow up there, and the adventures they create for themselves while the grown-ups entertain endless party guests.
This is the story of a whale that washes up on a beach, whose bones are claimed by a twelve-year-old girl with big ambitions and an even bigger imagination. An unwanted orphan who grows into an unmarriageable young woman, fiercely determined to do things differently.
But as the children grow to adulthood, another story has been unfolding in the wings. And when the war finally takes centre stage, they find themselves cast, unrehearsed, into roles they never expected to play.
They raised themselves on stories. Now it's time for them to write their own...
