December's News!

Welcome to this month's update!

The final month of 2025 is here and I'm counting down to the holiday season!
At my desk, the first draft of my next Annabel French novel is done and I'm going over it one more time before sending it to my editor at Avon in January. So far, I've added 10k words which is brilliant as my first draft's always come up short. For all those new writers out there, please don't worry about making first draft's perfect! I've got pages of notes of things to add in. The biggest one being, 'Make more funny!'. But even with all that, I'm really enjoying writing this one, especially as it's a grumpy-sunshine which is one of my favourite tropes to write.
Soon we need to talk about goals for 2025! I love the feeling of opportunity a new year brings and I can't wait to make some plans. I'm thinking I'd love to write a Hallmark movie, so might add that to the list. If your goal is finally write that novel you've always wanted let me know and I'll make sure I include a writing hint or tip in this newsletter every month. I know how hard it can be and if I can help motivate or support, I'd love too!
Right now, I'm trying to get Christmas presents wrapped, food ordered and work done so I can kick back and enjoy the season. Anyone else battling their to-do list? (And maybe losing?π)
Of course, I'm reading ALL the festive romances I can find, be they spicy or sweet. Do please share with me your reading recommendations, and check out the question of the month for something I'm dying to know about you!
I'd especially like to say thank you for joining my mailing list and supporting me. It really means the world to authors like me, and I can't wait to bring in 2025 with you!

Last months favourite reading space was the sofa, so some people are forced to read in the car while waiting for kids! I hear ya! π€£π€£

I'd love to know...
Do you read Christmas/holiday books only in December? Do you read them all year round? Or do you hate them?
Reply to this email and let me know your answer! I'll reveal the results next month.

Snowflakes at Mistletoe Cottage is still at 99p
ββ but I don't know for how long! ββ
On a grey, London day, Esmeβs world crumbles around her when she loses her glitzy job on a top TV programme, her gorgeous, city-slicker boyfriend and her stunning apartment, all in one fell swoop just before Christmas.
Esme is forced suddenly to move back to her sleepy hometown of Sandchester, and despite the snow blanketing the roof and the fairy lights that twinkle in her rustic little cottage, everything is looking bleak. That is until she reconnects with an old crush and finds herself unexpectedly getting swept away.
But Joe, handsome and charming as he is, is not all he seems. Esme soon realises that he has a tragic past which he just might not be able to overcomeβ¦
Surrounded by her loving, if harebrained, family and with the support of her hilarious friends, Esme is determined to have a go at forging her own path, even if it all comes to nothing.
But one question still lingers in her mind: will she find someone to kiss under the mistletoe this Christmas?
